Osight’s New Green Dot Optic!! It’s finally here! 😮‍💨

| | |Table of Contents

Let me tell you! I’ve been waiting for this. I currently run the Osight S Red Dot and I love it. However green has always been my go to choice.

Listen… every shooter hits that point where they realize the optic matters just as much as the gun. If your dot is dim, slow, or messy?

You’re fighting your gear instead of learning your fundamentals. So when I saw Osight drop their new Green Dot Optic lineup, I had to stop what I was doing and dig into it.

This post breaks down the two versions, the SE and the X . what makes them different, and why a green dot might be the upgrade your setup has been waiting on.

And no, I don’t have mine just yet… but baby, I’m watching closely.

Why Green Dots Even Matter

Before we get into the specs, let’s talk color science real quick.

Your eyes naturally pick up green light faster than red, especially outdoors in bright sunlight.

That means:

• Faster target acquisition

• Less eye strain

• A cleaner, sharper dot image

• Better visibility in mixed lighting conditions

For folks who train outside or at ranges with weird lighting, it matters. A lot.

The Two Osight Green Dot Versions (SE vs. X)

Osight didn’t drop one optic — they dropped a duo.

And each one serves a different type of shooter.

Let’s break it down plain and simple.

1. Osight Green Dot SE (Enclosed Emitter)

• 6 MOA Dot

• Battery Powered (not rechargeable)

• Fully enclosed design

If you’re the kind of shooter who hates dust, fog, or debris messing with your dot, the SE is the “keep the drama out” version.

The fully enclosed housing protects the emitter, which means fewer issues if you train outside, in rain, or in dirty environments (hello Georgia clay).

A 6 MOA dot is larger, which equals faster pickup.

Perfect for close-range defensive training, beginners, or folks with astigmatism who prefer a bold dot.

Best for:

• New shooters

• Concealed carry setups

• Harsh environments

• People who want set-it-and-forget-it power

2. Osight Green Dot X (Open Emitter)

• 3 MOA Dot + 32 MOA Circle (multi-reticle)

• Rechargeable (no batteries needed)

• Open design

This is their “techy” version — lightweight, modern, and built for dynamic training.

The 3 MOA dot is smaller, which means tighter accuracy at distance.

The 32 MOA circle helps with fast close-range transitions.

You get both — use whichever one fits your drill.

Being rechargeable means no digging around your range bag for batteries. Plug it in, charge it, go shoot.

Best for:

• Range training

• Competition style shooting

• Fast transitions & tracking drills

• People who love modern features

Which One Should You Choose?

If you want speed and simplicity → SE

If you want options and modern features → X

If you’re still finding your shooting rhythm and want a clearer, bigger dot, the SE makes life easier.

If you’re practicing transitions, dot tracking, or running drills that push you mentally and physically? The X gives you room to grow.

Final Thoughts

I don’t have mine in hand yet, but from the features alone, Osight came into this optics game ready to compete.Whether you’re building confidence or pushing skill levels, there’s a version for you.

And trust me… once mine touches down, you know I’ll bring a full range review.
